The public space I observed was Giant Grocery Store. I work in the pharmacy which allowed me to observe what people did in the grocery part of the store. The majority of people did not interact with others unless they knew them to an extent. I noticed that if people were acquaintances they would just say a quick "hello" and be on their way; however, if the people were close friends or relatives they would stop and have a conversation. I also noticed some people shopping with headphones on which suggests they try to avoid human interaction. I noticed some older people sitting on the benches waiting on others to get done with their shopping. Also, I witnessed a mentally challenged man named Larry who is quite popular around my home town talking with everyone. Clearly, everyone has their own "comfort" level when in public with others. Some try to avoid human interaction while others embrace it.
